FAQ's
Frequently asked questions
-Q: Is CBD psychoactive?
A: Yes. Contrary to the common misconception, CBD is psychoactive. CBD interacts with the CB-1 receptor as a negative allosteric modulator. CB-1 receptors are among the most-commonly expressed G protein-coupled receptors in the human brain. CBD, however, does not interact with the CB-1 receptor in the same manner as THC, and does not cause a high or intoxicating effect. CBD also interacts with other receptors in the brain such as the serotonin (5-HT1A) receptor which is involved in many neuromodulatory functions.
-Q: Will CBD make me tired?
A: Everyone is different. CBD has been shown to have a dose-related, bi-phasic property which causes CBD to have different effects at different doses. For example, 25mg of isolated CBD may cause some alertness while higher doses like 2,000mg may cause sedation. But remember, everyone is different. What may be a low dose for one person may be a high dose for someone else. And 25mg may make one person alert while causing some sedation in another person. Many products containing CBD also contain terpenes and/or essential oils which may contribute to changes in energy and mood.
-Q: How much is right for me?
A: Start low and go slow. While many factors are involved in finding the right product and dose for you, our products are formulated to contain 25mg-100mg of total cannabinoids per dose. Your product packaging will help you with suggested use, but starting at a low dose and waiting several hours before dosing again will help you gauge what works best for you.
-Q: Why sublingual?
A: WE ARE GLAD YOU ASKED. Our tinctures are formulated with organic, vegan MCT oil which acts as a “carrier” oil for the cannabinoids and terpenes to absorb more-rapidly than a non-sublingual, edible product. Bioavailability and delivery method are essential to maximizing the potential of cannabis products.
